## Betting In Roulette

Roulette is one of the most popular casino games because many consider it to be the easiest to learn. The goal of the game is for a player to correctly guess the number the ball will land on each time the wheel is spun. Players put their chips on the numbers of their choice on the Roulette table and win money for any chip put on a winning number. While a basic bet in the game of Roulette pays out at 1:1 the numbered bets in the game are paid out as high as 35:1.

American Roulette tables are laid out differently than European Roulette tables are. Both tables include spots for the following types of bets:

• Straight
• Split
• Street
• Corner
• Line
• Column
• Dozen
• Red or Black
• Even or Odd
• High or Low

The only difference in the tables between the two games is that American Roulette tables have a five number bet space and European Roulette tables have a four number bet space.

In Roulette there are inside bets and outside bets. Inside bet types are straight, split, street, corner, five number and six line bets. A straight bet is when Roulette players choose one number that they think the wheel will stop on. A split bet is made when a player chooses either one number or two numbers that are in adjacent positions on the table. Street bets involve choosing a number in a specific row of the table. A corner is when out of a group of four numbers players pick the number they think will come up. Five number bets are only found in the American version of Roulette and they involve players guessing that any number from 00 to 3 will be the winning number. A six line bet is when players pick six numbers in two adjacent rows on the game table.

Outside bets are column, dozen, red, black, even, odd, high and low. A column bet is when a player chooses a number within one of the columns on the table. A dozen bet is more complicated because it involves the division of the tables’ three sections. Players choose one division to put their chips in. Red bets and black bets involve players guessing if the Roulette wheel will land on a red number or a blue number. The same idea applies to even and odd bets. A high bet means that a player is putting their money on the Roulette wheel landing on a number from 19 to 36 while a low bet means that they are putting their money on the Roulette wheel landing on a number from 1 to 18.

The difference between the game chips for American and European Roulette is that American chips come in various colors while European chips are all the same color. For this reason some people consider European Roulette to be more difficult than American Roulette.

Understanding the various bets in a Roulette game means that players can easily learn it.
